And more and more Carson stuff..... i have been designing ships, beasts, swords, rayguns and all cool things for the strip.
Venus is a very strange world. ha!
....and this was a rejected scene as no one wanted to show a cigarette.... sigh. Even tho Burroughs smoked and it was the 30's when just about everyone did. oh well. i reworked it. So no worries. I do think people go overboard with the 'not showing' it side of history.
....and here is a shot of our hero Carson Napier as he talks with Mr. Burroughs about his planning to go to Mars. ooops. That didn't work out so well, did it.

ReplyDeleteI love the postcards and they reminded me that I forgot to subscribe for the comic strips, so they did work. I started June 30th, and read all 5 strips. And, I'm thrilled to see your work, and I'm glad to not miss it. I like all about the strip, I'm hooked. Your attention to details always keep me rereading the strip.
The Catcrab looks menacing and I can't wait to see if it is a threat or not. Now the shot of our hero, I understand.
It might not be Captain Spectre, but, I'm excited to see your art on a weekly basis.

Enjoying the strip so far, I'm not that familiar with Carson and his adventures so it should be an interesting ride. When he was putting on the aviation uniform and goggles it made me think of the Capt. In your blog you showcase some nice outtakes that were rejected for one reason or the other. Some of the other strips are cool too. I know even though it's a lot of work, you are having a blast.
