Behind the scenes....

Well this animation will never see the light of day other than here on my blog. It's what happens when I envision something one way and others have their way with it. I took my inspiration from the Kraft Suspense theater opening from years ago. This was going to be a show about a FBI profiler and the science of catching or profiling killers. Anyway, people were 'offended' by some of the graphics and subject matter. Even tho the show is going to carry a mature rating.
The funny part is at the station they are always talking about getting a new younger audience... well that ain't gonna happen until we quit showing reruns of Lawerence Welk. ha.

A sneak peek into the distance future.

Also just to see all you loyal Legionnaires that no matter what, I always try and work on some kind of Captain Spectre project. It is the only thing keeping me sane in this world of today.

I am always thinking of ways to expand the character into all art forms. Animation, comics, or anything I can work on with the freedom to do anything I want.

So here is a tiny tiny piece of a storyboard I am working on, that hopefully someday will find it's way to my animation table.

I must apologize for the rotten verison, It doesn't really look very good in this format. Believe me the original looks alot better. But with size restrictions and all, it kind of broke up this small and with the low bandwidth. After all it is just a sneak peak. Just to give you an idea of the myriad of things I work on with the good Captain.

Bunny girl run cycle

So here is the first of the Marine virus game character animations that I am working on. The game is going to be a side scroller like Mario. The bunny girl with jump, swim, run, climb a rope, throw stuff, and of course die. But, I have yet to draw all those, since this is the first one. It is a bit rough, but she is only going to be around 70 pixels tall so she looks alright when she is that size.

What If....?

In the heyday of going to the saturday movies, you used to get to see trailers, cartoons, a serial, sometimes a 'b' western, and then the feature. I just got in on the tail end of that era. But it was shear magic. In the small west texas town I was raised in, the Rose theatre had the Gandy's milk saturday movie. You could get in for, I think, a nickle and a Gandy's milk carton top. I remember going into the movies in the early morning and not getting out until late in the afternoon. What a wonderful experience. Especially since we lived 30 miles even from that little town. It was a special treat to get to go to the movies. Of course there was always TV, but with only getting two stations things were limited.
Remembering times like this and of course my love of serials, pulp, and cartoons (or animation) I am wondering why wasn't there a 'cartoon serial'? Maybe a five minute chapter a week that went on for maybe ten weeks - then the studio could string it together and have close to a 50 minute animated feature. Hell most 'b' westerns were only 50 minutes.
Something for Captain Spectre to look into.
